Join Spencer and Kathleen as they locate the right cruising sailboat, undertake a major multi-year refit, outfit their craft for long-range cruising, gain experience during a cruise up and down the U.S. east coast, head offshore from Miami to the Bahamas, then set a course south, cruising the islands of the eastern Caribbean. You'll be there as they learn the hard way, correct mistakes, gain experience and confidence by doing, then reap the rewards. Over 8 hours of content.
Volume I covers research in choosing the right boat to live aboard while exploring the world.
Volume II, Pt 1 covers the first half of the refit: coastal cruise shakedown, dinghy setup, anchoring improvements, plumbing, and haul-out.
Volume II, Pt 2 covers the second half of the refit: electrical system, interior work, exterior work, engine room, refitting tidbits, and more.
Volume III covers a complete re-power, installing a water maker, solar panels, diesel generator, wind generator, washer/dryer, life raft, EPIRB, ditch bag and much more.
Volume IV covers their cruise from Maine to Miami including the Intracoastal Waterway (ICW).
Volume V covers their cruise from Miami to the British Virgin Islands.
Vol. VI covers a cruise through the eastern Caribbean from St Martin to Grenada with visits to most of the major Leeward and Windward islands along the way.
